Interviewer: Is this the first roll-out of Bitcoin ATMs?ĭon Basile: No earlier this month, October 2021, Walmart announced they would be rolling out 200 Bitcoin ATMs in their stores. This partnership will allow the users of different states of the U.S to buy or cash out Bitcoin Latinum and Bitcoin, which will further help in the mass adoption of Bitcoin Latinum. BITCOIN LATINUM WHERE TO BUY INSTALLOSO is aiming to install 25,000 ATMs by the end of January 2022. As part of the partnership, OSO ATM will help Bitcoin Latinum install up to 100,000 ATMs across all 50 US states, where users can easily buy/sell LTNM tokens by using their fiat currencies. Besides, it’ll help the cryptocurrency to further expand its customer reach supporting what we see as mass adoption over the next few years. Interviewer: An ATM deal to bring up to 100,000 ATMs that have access to Bitcoin Latinum was just announced, tell us about that?ĭon Basile: Yes, we are partnering with a full-service ATM company, OSO ATMs, and this sets a new journey for Bitcoin Latinum to further span its vision of making crypto easily accessible for everyone. All of these things make LTNM a more safe, secure, low cost currency for you to use - either as an issuer, someone who is accepting it, or as a user. So, for folks that are concerned about energy usage or that want a low power currency, we have done that and we believe that others in the industry will get there. We took a very serious green initiative or crypto green initiative. And I know those projects are going to get around to move into Proof of Stake, we move into advanced Proof of Stake technology, so we have a very low power of usage. I also want to point out one more thing that we did at Latinum, which is we actually address the power issue of Bitcoin and Ethereum. We have a much more resilient solution to the potential 51% hack as well. ![]() Of course, we have also addressed security. Additionally, the asset pool wraps in insurance, arranged by Marsh McLennan, the world’s largest insurance broker. Unlike most other cryptocurrencies, LTNM is backed by an underlying asset pool behind the currency and then asset pool increases every time you actually do a transaction, 80% of low network fee goes into the asset pool to ensure the asset pool is always increasing over time. ![]() What is the primary difference between Latinum and the rest?ĭon Basile: So briefly, low cost of your transaction fee, high speed, as you know your bitcoin transaction could take minutes to up to 48 hours to settle vs five seconds or less for Latinum. Interviewer: If you had to explain just briefly to somebody who just wanted to get the gist of it, Or, to people who do not understand the difference between bitcoin, Ethereum and the rest of over 19,000 coins. So, lots of credit to the guys who invented bitcoin years earlier and we have had a nice coming up on 6 years now in this space. So we were very fortunate back in the ‘15 and ‘16 timeframe to begin working on blockchain technology. So, I’ve gone through a few of these boom cycles and you know blockchain is the latest of the technology revolutions that is going to reshape the way we all interact with each other. I exited Stanford in the end with my PhD and focused on distributed computing with a Masters of Advanced Computer Architecture and got right into the venture capital side and building companies. Tell us a bit more about you, How did you get into this space?ĭon Basile: Well, as you say Silicon Valley has been the birthplace for a lot of great things and I was very fortunate to get there in the 80’s to attend Stanford. And now we are all things bitcoin and blockchain. I think of all of Silicon Valley the great behemoths going back to Hewlett Packard and Apple and everything in between Expo, Xerox. Good day, how are you today?ĭon Basile: I’m doing well. Don Basile is the CEO of Monsoon Blockchain and the brains behind Bitcoin Latinum. ![]() I'm really happy to have you joining us today. ![]() Don Basile, the founder of Bitcoin Latinum, joined us to tell more about their plans with the partnership, as well as, explains how it will affect the entire crypto ecosystem. Bitcoin Latinum (LTNM), a first asset-backed and insured cryptocurrency, has recently partnered with a US-based ATM company to help them install 100,000 LTNM ATMs across the country.
